Nanny McPhee

One of the many, many, many joys of being a Nene
is being able to watch them discover something new.
Seeing everything  again from the eyes of a child...
there is really nothing like it!

Friday afternoon, I got out "Nanny McPhee" and
 She loved it!
All we heard for the rest of weekend was
"they've eaten the baby!" in her best British accent
and laughing hysterically every time!
I discovered something that I really
had never paid attention to...

How could I not have noticed this?

So of course, I have now started another(!) project!!

for Pam...

This has been the summer of the baby blanket.
I have enjoyed being able to hold and
enjoy so many sweet little ones.

This is a wrap blanket...lightweight and long enough
to be wrapped around her shoulders while she is nursing...

Up next, Baby Parker's blanket.
He should be here any day.

Progress

I started a few of my Christmas makes back in July.  I had originally thought I could make 5 blankets in 5 months.  Silly right? I soon realized that was not gonna happen so  I had to cut it down to 3 friends, 3 blankets, 5 months.  Hopefully, all ready, wrapped and delivered by December 20.  (or February 14 if December doesn't work out)

288 squares needed
(8 rows across, 12 rows in length for a total of 96 squares per blanket)
130 squares complete
96  days to go!

Blanket one...76 squares complete

Blanket 2...16 squares complete...

Blanket 3...21 squares complete...

Wish me luck!!

for Cynthia...

(totally inspired by this!)

A quick couple of photos. I had less than 24 hours to wash, block/dry, wrap and deliver.

I will miss seeing her everyday...
I hope that every time she wraps up in this she will know I am thinking about her.
